Nice to meet you!
Feb 16, 2025
Well, Hi there! It is just so great to meet you and be able to chat. I just made myself a matcha, and am curled up in the studio on a rainy February day in Nashville, TN. Joren is at the production desk currently exporting/fixing tracks to send to our drummer. All I can say is BOY has this album season gone by fast. We started writing at the end of the summer and are now sitting with a full track list and 19 songs in production. I'm tired just typing it.
Well where do I even begin, how about an interview with Chat GPT generated questions because if you can’t beat it, join it haha.
What inspired your latest project, and how does it reflect your personal journey or growth as an artist?
Back in 2022 I got the title Golden Era and put it in my phone. It was reflective of what I was believing was coming into in my own personal life as well as the world around me. I love watching old movies so I loved the concept of the “Golden Age”, little did I know a few years later we would be hearing that phrase everywhere including in the media! It was such a confirmation to the record and the timing.
Music can be such a powerful tool for connection. How do you hope your music resonates with your listeners, and what message do you want to convey through your work?
Music saved my life and helped me create my own atmospheres growing up. It was a safe place for me to express and unpack my emotions and feelings. I loved that even if I was feeling down, I could put on a song and it could instantly affect me for the better. The message I want to share with the world is one filled with joy and optimism. I want to be able to create and shift atmospheres in my life and those around me. I want to sing about songs with a good outcome and positioning people to believe and hope for the best possible scenario.
What values do you hold most dear, and how do they influence your music or creative process?
My deepest and greatest value is my love for Jesus, and my relationship with Him. It is at the core of what I do and shapes every decision I make. I don’t simply make music for myself. I feel called to create this music for Him, and my greatest joy is seeing people come back into relationship with him and experience his presence.
Balancing personal life and a demanding career in music can be challenging. How do you maintain a healthy work-life balance, and what do you do to recharge creatively and emotionally?
My life currently looks like working three jobs, one full time music, one as a real estate agent, and another as a business director for a Web design agency. On top of that being a wife and a devoted dog mom to our 60lb bernedoodle “Betty”. Life looks like 16 hour days running multiple businesses and stretching myself personally and creatively. To be honest the thing that refreshes me the most right now is driving in my car in silence haha. I am craving a trip to California or the desert. I am so refreshed by the ocean, the mountains and the vegetation and architecture. Once this album is done you can meet me there!
